It is used to load a file containing an image, graphic or GPS data.
- Graphics data export
-
Saves the whole set of graphic data (including GPS), one file per graphic layer ;
the file has the same name as the original file with appropriate extension.
Available formats are : MIF (Note : no MID file is generated)
and KML (Google Earth).
- GPS data export
-
Saves the whole set of GPS data, one file per graphic layer ;
the file has the same name as the original file with appropriate extension.
Available formats are : GPX and NMEA.
- Print
-
Prints data displayed in the window.
For options, see paragraph IV.
- Quit
-
Exits the application, deleting the contents of GeoVisu temporary directory.
- Display system...
-
It is possible to change the display geodetic system, when no image is loaded.
This menu shows a dialog box where systems are shown in alphabetical order.
Projected systems are displayed as
"datum / projection" (example : NTF [Paris] / France II ).
It also proposes the systems already used in this session.
- Display cursor coordinates
-
This function opens a small window in which cursor coordinates (and their geodetic system) are displayed.
To close this window, use again this menu.
- Cursor coordinate system
-
This menu is used to select the geodetic system of displayed cursor coordinates.
The system is selected in the same way as display system.
- Cursor coordinate unit
-
This menu is used to select the unit of displayed cursor coordinates.
Unit type (angle or distance) depends on coordinate display system (geographic or cartographic).
- Display track during navigation
-
Enables or disables carried out track display during navigation.
To change its color, use "Colors" menu.
- Negative images
-
Inverts luminosity values. Dark pixels become light, and light pixels become dark.
- Monochrome images
-
Displays images in a given color, keeping luminosity values.
Color is chosen using menu "Monochrome images color...."
- Monochrome images color...

This menu is used to select color which will apply to monochrome image display.
- Graphic layers management
-
Management of graphic layers to decide whether layers are displayed or not.
Check / uncheck layers and click «Apply».
The changes are effective immediately whithout exiting dialog box.
For KML/KMZ files, sub-layers are defined in the file.
For OSM or Polish format, layers are created for each «Map feature».

With this menu, it is possible to specify a zone of the graph space to be displayed.
System and unit used are those of the graph space.
When a zone is validated, its contents will be displayed in the window.
To specify a zone, you can enter
- either ULC and LRC
- either center and dimensions. Dimensions can be given in % of the graph space.
ULC and LRC of the graph space are displayed for information.
To be valid, a zone must intersect the graph space. If not, OK button is disabled.
Be careful when using this option. The screen can become empty if you enter inappropriate values.
If you are lost, press F4.
- Global view

This function displays the entire graph space into the window. (So it displays all loaded data.)
- Center on last loaded object

With this option selected, when loading data, the last loaded object
is displayed at the centre of the window, using the current zoom level.
- Global view on last loaded object

With this option selected, after its loading, an object
is displayed as big as possible into the window.
- Display last loaded image in zoom 1

With this option selected, after its loading, an image
is displayed with zoom 1 at the center of the window.
- Find place name
-
It is possible to do a text search on the name or comment of an object.
The object types on which the search applies are :
- GPS data (waypoints, POI)
- so-called "cartographic" data, i.e. OSM
and cGPSmapper Polish format
- other graphics data.
You can use '*' or '%' to replace any substring.
Once place names have been found, use button «Localize»
to go to the place selected in list.
This is immediate, whithout exiting dialog box.
- Download waypoints / tracklogs / routes

This menu displays download screen
to download and save to file waypoints and/or tracklogs and/or routes and/or datalog
stored in GPS receiver.
- Navigation (current position)
-
This is used to switch on and off "moving map" navigation.
When activating, this menu shows navigation screen.
Function can be switched on before or after launching
communication on GPS receiver or on UDP, it will take effect as soon as it receives
navigation data.
- Log navigation
-
This is used to record into a file in NMEA format, data sent from GPS receiver during navigation.
This functionality is not available for data received on UDP port.
This function can be switched on before or after starting navigation,
but of course it will work only when navigating.
Note : this option is also avalaible in
navigation screen.
- Colors and fonts
-
This is to select a color and/or font size for graphics not having corresponding
information specified into the file.
Color and/or font size will apply onto next loaded files, except for navigation for which it is immediately
taken into account.
- Map features display
-
This screen allows both to
- create new map features
- change feature display attributes (color, thickness...).
In this version, changes are not saved.
Changes do not apply to files already loaded.
